Changes To Expert Witness Rules Draw Criticism

Law360 (October 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Proposed changes to federal rules of procedure governing expert witnesses have drawn criticism from several lawyers who believe that protecting drafts of expert reports from discovery would serve to conceal instances where experts are serving as advocates rather than impartial witnesses.

The Judicial Conference of the United States' Advisory Committee on Federal Rules of Civil Procedure has solicited comments to two proposed changes to Rule 26 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
