Legal Costs Stifle Foreign Investment In US: Report

Law360 (October 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The frequency, scope and cost of lawsuits threaten to slash foreign direct investment in the United States, according to a recent report from the Commerce Department.

The report — “The U.S. Litigation Environment and Foreign Direct Investment: Supporting U.S. Competitiveness by Reducing Legal Costs and Uncertainty” — was released Wednesday at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s 9th Annual Legal Reform Summit.
