Virgin Sacks 13 Crew Members Over Facebook Posts

Law360, New York (November 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd. confirmed Monday that it had fired 13 members of a cabin crew after they allegedly posted “inappropriate” comments on Facebook.

The company said the employees violated staff policy by posting comments that belittled its passengers and questioned the safety and cleanliness of the airline on the social-networking site Facebook.

Virgin Atlantic started an investigation Thursday after messages reportedly appeared on Facebook used offensive stereotypes to describe airline passengers and joked about faulty engines and the airplanes being full of cockroaches, British newspaper...
