Ice Cream Co. Cops To Criminal Clean Air Violations

Law360 (November 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Entering a guilty plea, ice cream manufacturer Hershey Creamery Co. last week became the first company to be criminally prosecuted for violating the risk management provision of the Clean Air Act.

Hershey Creamery pled guilty to violating the Clean Air Act and agreed to pay a $100,000 fine for failing to develop and implement a risk management program required for the industrial use of anhydrous ammonia at two facilities in Pennsylvania.
