BAA Violated Antitrust Law: UK Regulators

Law360, New York (November 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- In the latest blow to BAA Ltd., the United Kingdom's competition watchdog has accused the company of breaching antitrust laws at its Stansted airport, rejecting BAA's request for a substantial boost in landing charges and instead setting up a price cap over the next five years.

The U.K. Competition Commission said in findings made public Tuesday that Stansted airport had acted against the public interest by failing to consult adequately with airlines on the development of the airport and its capital expenditure plans, manage security lines...
