471,000 Mislabeled Insulin Syringes Recalled

Law360 (November 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Massachusetts-based health care firm and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a nationwide recall on Thursday for nearly half a million disposable hypodermic insulin syringes due to a mislabeling error that could give patients as much as 2.5 times the intended dose.

Covidien, formerly Tyco Healthcare Group, of Mansfield, Mass. manufactures the ReliOn single-use disposable Insulin syringes and issued a voluntary recall of the product earlier this month, asking its distributors to take the product of the shelves.
