Innovative Technology Sues Taiwanese Rival Over Currency Changers

Law360 (January 13, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- A U.K. maker of currency changers has sued a Taiwanese competitor in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, claiming patent infringement.

U.K.-based Innovative Technology, which makes currency validation machines and currency changers, claims Taiwan’s International Currency Technologies Corporation is infringing its patent for a banknote validator.

The patent, U.S. Patent No. 6,392,863, was issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on May 21,2002, according to the complaint.
