Self-Reported FERC Violations Up In FY2008

Law360, New York (November 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The number of industry-reported violations of federal energy policy jumped in fiscal year 2008 while the number of enforcement actions declined, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission reported Thursday.

According to the 2008 Report on Enforcement, FERC received 68 self-reports of violations from industry players in the fiscal year that ended in September. That is a jump from the 37 self-reports received in fiscal 2006 and 31 received in fiscal 2007, the report said.
