EU Drafts Toy Safety Regulations

Law360, New York (November 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The European Parliament has proposed legislation that would strengthen toy safety standards in the wake of recalls of millions of imported toys over lead paint and swallowing risks.

The Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection drafted legislation Thursday that updates safety regulations and bans the use of certain chemicals and heavy metals for toys entering the European Union market.
