Law360, Chicago (February 19, 2016, 6:57 PM EST) -- Law departments spend nearly $1.5 billion each year on legal software — it's nothing to sneeze at, but with general counsels taking on more work, the legal technology market is underpenetrated and poised for growth, according to a new report.
Enterprise legal technology provider Mitratech Holdings Inc. has found in a report posted Feb. 15 that the total addressable market potential of legal software is $6.5 billion, demonstrating the gap between actual and potential spending. From both law firms and law departments, $3 billion goes toward legal software annually, while the total addressable market is $15.9 billion, the report said....
