Climate Policy Needed To Protect Energy Grid: NERC

Law360, New York (November 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- In the absence of national climate change legislation, inconsistencies among local and state policies on carbon reductions threaten the reliability of the U.S. power grid, energy watchdog North American Electric Reliability Corp. has said.

On Monday, NERC issued a report on the electric industry's concerns over grid reliability amid state and local climate change initiatives. The report called for a national climate change policy.
