APA Seeks Right To Conduct No-Overtime Campaign

Law360, New York (November 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Allied Pilots Association, which represents pilots for American Airlines Inc., has asked a court for a judgment that it may try to persuade its members not to accept voluntary overtime in order to mitigate furloughs.

In a motion filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the pilots union said it is entitled to summary judgment that asking pilots to decline voluntary overtime flying does not violate its collective bargaining agreement with the airline, or the Railway Labor Act.
