US Utility Industry May Need Up To $2T By 2030

Law360, New York (November 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The nation's utility industry will need to invest as much as $2 trillion before 2030 to continue current levels of service amid increasing energy demands and expected federal climate policy, a study has found.

The Edison Foundation, a nonprofit organization that studies electricity, released a report Monday that it had commissioned to calculate how much investment would be required to maintain electric service in the U.S. between 2010 and 2030.
