UK Panel Urges More Nanotech Oversight

Law360, New York (November 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- There is an urgent need for increased testing and regulation of nanotechnology, microscopic material used in everything from pharmaceuticals to cosmetics, a British advisory group said in a study released Wednesday.

The U.K. Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution, an independent body that advises the British government and the public on environmental issues, said that the pace of nanomaterial development and marketing has far exceeded the oversight abilities of regulators.
