Man Wins Nearly $1M In EEOC Suit

Law360 (November 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- An Ohio preparatory school unlawfully fired an employee in retaliation for voicing concerns about allegedly unequal pay for his female colleagues, a federal court jury has found.

Plaintiff James Whiteman was handed a pink slip by the North Ridgeville, Ohio-based Lake Ridge Academy for opposing wage discrimination based on gender, according to the unanimous verdict, which was handed down Friday by the jury in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.

The jury awarded Whiteman back pay of $50,000, front pay of $50,000...
