GM Recalls '09 Cadillacs Over Passenger Air Bag

Law360, New York (November 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- General Motors Corp. has issued a recall for more than 12,000 model year 2009 Cadillac CTS vehicles after learning that an electronic glitch might stop the front passenger-side air bag from deploying in a crash.

The U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration sent a letter to General Motors' product investigations department Thursday, informing the company that the Cadillac CTS failed to conform with the federal “occupant crash protection” standard.

Around 12,662 units could potentially be affected, the letter said.
