Yahoo Resists Releasing Email Account In Irish Bank Ch. 15

Law360, Wilmington (March 1, 2016, 5:10 PM EST) -- Yahoo told a Delaware bankruptcy judge Tuesday that it would be in violation of federal law if it acquiesces to the demands of the former Anglo Irish Bank for access to an email account allegedly connected to a $3.8 billion loan evasion scheme, even though he ordered the production.

During a hearing in Wilmington, Yahoo Inc. attorney Robert F. Huff of Zwillgen PLLC argued that even though the court deemed Chapter 15 debtor Irish Bank Resolution Corp. Ltd.’s foreign representatives the subscribers of the account through judicial order, that act did not “in fact” make them the subscribers under the U.S....
