Labor Dept. Updates Family Leave Law

Law360 (November 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Labor has made the final adjustments to the Family and Medical Leave Act, which lays out new guidelines for families of injured military members that seek to take unpaid leave from work to help care for them.

The DOL announced the update to the FMLA on Thursday, and although the new rules drew praise for providing clarity on the issue of military leave, many worker advocates and employment lawyers criticized the other revisions to the law.
