Implications Of The UK Carbon Reduction Commitment

Law360 (November 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The United Kingdom may provide a bellwether for US climate change regulation. Businesses in a wide range of sectors on this side of the Atlantic should take note of the UK’s Carbon Reduction Commitment.

The UK Climate Change Bill is expected to become law before the end of this year. The provisions of the Bill include the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC), a mandatory auction-based emissions trading scheme for non-intensive energy users.
