Nev. Sues Wyeth, Pfizer Over Hormone Drugs

Law360, New York (November 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The state of Nevada has filed a lawsuit accusing Wyeth and Pfizer Inc. of misrepresenting the benefits of popular hormone therapy treatments such as Prempro and Provera and downplaying the risks of cancer and other ailments associated with the drugs.

In a complaint filed Tuesday in Clark County District Court in Nevada, Attorney General Catherina Cortez Masto claimed the drug manufacturers violated state law by engaging in deceptive trade practices to mislead consumers and physicians about the safety and efficacy of the drugs.
