Sanofi To Get $60M In Allegra Deal With Barr, Teva

Law360 (November 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Generic-drug makers Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd. will pay Sanofi-Aventis $30 million each plus royalties to settle U.S. patent infringement litigation over generic versions of the allergy drug Allegra.

The settlements announced Wednesday also include a licensing agreement allowing Barr to sell its proposed generic version of Sanofi-Aventis' nasal spray Nasacort at a future date, also in exchange for royalties, the companies said.

The agreements cover past and future sales of Allegra in 30, 60 and 180 mg tablets, which Israel-based Teva launched...
