USW Claims Arbitrator In KeySpan Spat Biased

Law360, New York (November 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The United Steelworkers of America is seeking to vacate an arbitration award that allowed KeySpan Energy Delivery to fire an employee, saying the arbitrator should have recused herself from the proceedings because her husband once provided training to the company's outside counsel, Goodwin Procter LLP.

In a lawsuit filed Tuesday with the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, Local 12003 of the USW said it was deprived of a fair hearing, and that the case should be remanded for assignment to a new arbitrator....
