CPSC Issues Final Rule On Product Certifications

Law360 (November 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued an immediate final effective rule that requires importers and U.S. manufacturers to certify that their products conform with laws governing all consumer hazards regulated by the agency.

Published on Wednesday in the Federal Register, the final rule limits the parties who must complete the certification and also specifies the requirements that an electronic certificate must meet.
