EPA Weighs Classifying Nano Silver As Pesticide

Law360, New York (November 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has begun accepting public comments on a proposal to classify nanoscale silver, a component in many consumer products touted for its germ-killing abilities, as a pesticide.

The EPA is acting on a petition filed in May by the International Center for Technology Assessment, a nonprofit group that seeks greater analysis of the impact of technology on society.
