Avastin-Chemo Combo Could Boost Clot Risk: Study

Law360, New York (November 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Genentech Inc. blockbuster cancer drug Avastin has been linked to an increased risk of potentially dangerous blood clots in the veins when used in combination with chemotherapy, a new study has found.

The study, published Wednesday in the Journal American Medical Association, analyzed a total of 7,956 patients with a variety of advanced solid tumors from 15 randomized controlled trials.
