Berkshire Gas To Pay $3.8M For Superfund Cleanup

Law360, New York (November 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Natural gas provider Berkshire Gas Co. has agreed to pay $3.8 million to cover the cleanup of residual oil and sludge from its operations in the Housatonic River, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Thursday.

The deal with Berkshire Gas comes less than a week after the EPA sued the Massachusetts-based natural gas company in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
