Judge Sobers Up Plaintiffs In Spat Over InBev Merger

Law360 (November 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has shot down a preliminary injunction motion brought by Missouri beer drinkers who allege that InBev NV's $52 billion takeover of Anheuser-Busch & Co. Inc. violates antitrust laws.

In an opinion issued Tuesday, Judge Jean Hamilton of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri ruled that the beer drinkers were unlikely to succeed on the merits and that the balance of harm strongly favored the companies.
