Fla. Insurance Regulator OKs Anthem-Cigna Deal
Law360, Miami (April 1, 2016, 7:29 PM EDT) -- Florida's insurance regulator on Friday approved Anthem Inc.'s bid to buy Cigna Corp.'s Florida business as part of a blockbuster $54 billion nationwide merger.
Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty said in a consent order that neither insurer is a dominant factor in the Florida market and would not increase market concentration on a statewide basis.
