Midwest Generation To Pay $16.1M For '01 Lockout

Law360 (November 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Electricity producer Midwest Generation EME LLC will pay $16.1 million to settle a labor dispute arising from a 2001 lockout that took place during negotiations with the union representing the company's electrical workers, federal authorities have announced.

The settlement, revealed Friday, will provide back pay to employees for the lockout, in addition to back pay and other monetary compensation, including 401(k) contributions, for potential losses they suffered as a result of less favorable contract terms, the National Labor Relations Board said.
