Obama Could Raise Cap On H-1B Skilled Workers

Law360 (November 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- As buzz circulates around President-elect Barack Obama's presumed U.S. Department of Homeland Security secretary pick — Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, an H-1B visa program supporter — some speculate that Obama’s team will lift current H-1B caps to allow more highly skilled workers in the technology, engineering and biotech fields to find employment in the U.S.

While the Obama team has yet to release an official statement on H-1B visas, it’s likely that the administration could at least temporarily raise the current cap on the H-1B visas...
