Senate Confirms Tennessee Nominee To Federal Bench

Law360, Washington (April 11, 2016, 7:30 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate on Monday unanimously approved Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis LLP partner Waverly D. Crenshaw Jr. for a seat on the Tennessee federal bench, the first federal judicial nominee confirmed since February, ending Crenshaw's 14-month-long wait for confirmation.

Crenshaw was confirmed to the Middle District of Tennessee in a 92-0 vote, replacing Judge William J. Haynes — who took senior status in December 2014 — after Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., described Crenshaw ahead of the vote as a "man of good character and good temperament," and Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., noted his work in his local community and said...
