Law360, New York (April 12, 2016, 11:37 PM EDT) -- A onetime Dentons client has hit the megafirm with a multimillion-dollar malpractice suit in Ohio state court alleging lawyers ignored a crucial conflict in a patent case, triggering a disqualification and a scramble for new lawyers who were forced to settle for far less than the cases were worth.
The April 4 suit by the former client, Ohio-based laser inscribing company RevoLaze LLC, accuses Dentons patent litigation lead Mark Hogge and corporate counsel Steven Stein of pursuing a deliberate strategy to discount a conflict with Gap Inc. and later revealing the conflict in an inadvertent disclosure to the clothing retailer's lawyer....
