Judge Goes Easy On Bankers In $20M Fraud

Law360, New York (July 28, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two former bankers who divulged in federal court the inner workings of a complex, $20 million fraud have been given lenient sentences for their cooperation and won the praise of U.S. Attorneys working on the case.

Judge K. Michael Moore of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, said the bankers’ sentences—just over two years each—were sufficient, since the mastermind of the fraud now faces 30 years in prison.
