Court Upholds Dismissal Of Helicopter Crash Suit

Law360, New York (December 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Louisiana appellate court has upheld the dismissal of a suit from a woman claiming that flaws in the design of a helicopter caused a crash in which the pilot, her husband, died.

The State of Louisiana Court of Appeal, Third Circuit ruled Wednesday that the trial court had not erred in allowing a bid by Eurocopter Deutschland GmbH to dismiss the cross-claims brought by the widow after it refused to allow certain expert testimony and other witnesses in the case.
