Fed. Circ. Affirms Apple, Others' Win In Ethernet Patent Row

Law360, New York (April 25, 2016, 6:07 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit refused to restore two data transfer patents that U.S. Ethernet Innovations LLC had sued numerous computer makers, including Apple Inc. and Dell Inc., for infringing, affirming a lower court’s decision that the inventions were anticipated.

Three judges on a panel for the appeals court said U.S. District Judge Claudia Wilken in California did not misconstrue the language in the patents’ claims. Both sides had agreed the patents would be anticipated and invalid under Judge Wilken’s interpretation.
