Judge OKs 11 Hawaiian Telcom First-Day Motions

Law360, New York (December 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A bankruptcy judge has granted 11 first-day motions asked for by Hawaiian Telcom Communications Inc. and seven of its subsidiaries when they filed for Chapter 11.

Among the orders issued by Judge Peter J. Walsh of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, Hawaiian Telcom and its units will be allowed to jointly manage their bankruptcy proceedings.

Hawaiian Telcom will not have to file its schedule of assets and liabilities, executory contracts and leases until Jan. 8, 2009, an extension of eight days, according...
