Bratz Ruling Highlights Creative Worker, IP Pitfalls

Law360 (December 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a case that highlights the perils surrounding employees' creative works, Barbie maker Mattel has triumphed over upstart rival MGA Entertainment Inc., maker of Bratz dolls, securing a permanent injunction against the sale of the dolls.

In an order issued Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Judge Stephen G. Larson said MGA would no longer be able to sell virtually any of the Bratz dolls and must remove them from store shelves starting in February.
