GCs Urged To Show Law Firms A Tough Hand On Diversity

Law360, San Francisco (May 2, 2016, 10:37 PM EDT) -- Corporate legal departments that want to create a “best in class” diversity and inclusion program need to be willing to drop the law firms that refuse to aim for the goals clients lay out for them, law department insiders said Monday.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s associate general counsel and Accenture LLP's senior director of legal services told an audience at the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium's 2016 Corporate Legal Operations Institute they both would fire law firms that refused to participate in diversity programs the organizations established.
