ITC Opens Investigation Into Nvidia Over Chip Patents

Law360, New York (December 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has launched an investigation over whether Nvidia Corp. and other companies have infringed nine of Rambus Inc.’s patents covering semiconductor chips with synchronous dynamic random access memory controllers.

Rambus said Thursday that the ITC has decided to follow up on the complaint the Los Altos, Calif.-based company filed last month, seeking to block Nvidia products and other companies’ products incorporating Nvidia devices from entering the United States for allegedly infringing the patents.
