Cleveland Sues 2 Cos. For $1.5M In Cleanup Costs

Law360, New York (December 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The city of Cleveland has slapped Standex International Corp. and Apollo Real Estate Co. with a lawsuit in order to recover at least $1.5 million in cleanup costs related to the remediation of a former aluminum factory site.

The city filed the suit on Tuesday in the Court of Common Pleas for Cuyahoga County, Ohio, claiming that the companies violated Ohio statutory code and should share in the costs for investigating and remediating the parcel of downtown real estate known as the Trinity site.
