TSCA List Update May Require Recent Substances

Law360, New York (December 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's planned updates to its inventory of 83,000 chemicals listed under the Toxic Substances Control Act could require companies to certify with the agency that they have manufactured listed substances recently, according to a Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP environmental attorney.

The EPA announced its intention to update the toxic chemicals inventory in September, but at a public meeting Monday, the agency emphasized its desire to complete the process within a year, Pillsbury attorney Warren Lehrenbaum told Law360.
