E.U. Unveils New Technology Transfer Rules

Law360, New York (January 16, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Companies in the European Union will be able to share technology with competitors as long as they do not control more than 20% of sector markets, European Union competition chief Mario Monti said in a speech on Friday.

Non-competitors spanning across different industry and technology sectors will be able to share ideas below a market threshold of 30%, according to the new regulations.
