WFN To Stop Touting 'Disease-Fighting' Supplements

Law360, New York (December 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- In a deal reached with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Wilderness Family Naturals has agreed to stop claiming its supplements treat serious diseases, including AIDS and diabetes, despite not having been approved by the FDA.

Judge Donovan W. Frank signed the consent decree between the FDA and the company Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.

The decree requires WFN — which markets and sells its products online — to stop advertising that its non-FDA-approved products can treat or prevent disease....
