Contractor To Appeal $48M Steel Worker Verdict

Law360, New York (December 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Minteq International Inc. has vowed to appeal an Indiana jury's award of $48 million in damages to a steel mill worker left paraplegic after a fall from a ladder and his wife, who claimed Minteq improperly sprayed concrete onto the ladder.

A jury in Lake County Superior Court handed out the verdict Thursday against Minteq, and an attorney for the contractor, John Patton of Patton & Ryan LLC, said the decision would be appealed.
