Dreier LLP Appears Bankruptcy-Bound

Law360, New York (December 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Charged with assessing and protecting the assets of Marc S. Dreier, the receiver appointed in the fraud case got the judge's blessing to pursue a bankruptcy petition on behalf of the arrested founder's New York-based law firm.

On Monday, Mark Pomerantz, a partner at Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison LLP, got the go-ahead from U.S. District Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum, confirming that he was authorized to make such a move in respect to Dreier LLP and related entities.
