Landowners Can't Sue Chevron Over Waste: 5th Circ.

Law360, New York (December 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The owners of a defunct sugarcane farm in Louisiana cannot sue Chevron USA Inc. for allegedly contaminating the site because they lack a legally acceptable explanation for having missed the deadline to file their case, a federal appeals court has said.
