TVA Raises Estimate Of Fly Ash Released In Spill

Law360, New York (December 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Tennessee Valley Authority has revised its earlier estimate of the amount of potentially harmful fly ash unleashed following a dam burst at an Eastern Tennessee power plant days ago.

On Friday, TVA revealed that approximately 5.4 million cubic yards of fly ash were released from a retention pond at the Kingston Fossil Plant, marking a sharp increase from the 1.7 million cubic yard figure released earlier in the week.
