9 Defendants Dismissed From Prempro Suits

Law360, New York (December 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has dismissed several defendants from more than 75 cases that are part of the multidistrict product liability litigation over Wyeth Pharmaceutical Inc.'s drug Prempro and related hormone-replacement drugs.

On Dec. 22, Judge William R. Wilson granted motions to dismiss by several defendants, including Pfizer Inc. and Barr Laboratories Inc., from the cases, which have been consolidated with the multidistrict litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. The MDL includes thousands of lawsuits.
