EU Accuses EDF Of Suppressing Competition

Law360, New York (December 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The European Commission has sent a statement of objections to French state-sponsored utility company Electricite de France, accusing it of abusing its dominant market position in France through restrictive contracts with its industrial customers.

The EC is alleging that EDF's contracts prevent customers from switching providers, and prevent the resale of electricity, the commission announced Monday.
