Energy Cos. Lose Methane Tax Battles

Law360 (January 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Wyoming Supreme Court has shot down two energy companies' bids to deduct some production expenses from the taxable value of coal-bed methane gas, in two spats with the state Department of Revenue.

On Dec. 31, the Supreme Court, State of Wyoming sided with the state in two discrete cases brought by Williams Production RMT Company and Kennedy Oil over the tax value of CBM.
